I'll buy it from you for $2100. You make a quick hundred bucks!

lol, I've already put over $600 into it just in gas, renting the car dolly, taxes and registration, and a few other things for it.

Okay, you bent my arm... $2100 + your $600 = $2700.

rofl, that's ok I think I'll fix it first and have some fun with it over the summer and sell it for bluebook value once gas prices start to go down again in the winter. That is unless I like it a lot and decide to keep it longer

Do a Tortion Lift (TS Lift) on it first!

well I have an idea to try and further isolate the location of the problem. I will record the knocking sound and compare it to the idle speed to see if the knock is in the lower end, the cam, or timing chains. I have to put the valve cover back on and put a few things back together first. i'm glad I didn't start pulling the head!

if idle rpms are 650 that's 10.8Hz. If the knock is the same frequency, it's in the lower end. if it's around 5.4Hz, it should have something to do with the cam or a rocker arm. If it's lower than that I would suspect a timing chain. Hopefully this works. I'll let you know what I find.
