Angry 2002 Front Wheel Bearings

Just got back from my dealer.... my 02 (Full time 4X4) only has 117,000 KM's on it, and I'm told I need Front Wheel Bearings - to the tune of $450 EACH plus installation !!!

Should wheel bearings need replacing after only so few KM's ?

Thanks

Go to your best TIRE SHOP in town and have them do it. You will cut that price in half or less. Don't let the dealer do ANY front end work because they will over charge AND use the same junk you are getting rid of.

Hubs are not a bad project to do at home. If you can do your own front brakes, hubs are easy. Parts cost $225USD for each hub with the 4 wheel ABS version as aftermarket everywhere.

117,000km is about 73,000 miles. I replaced my first at 90,000 miles (~145,000km) so it's a little early but not unheard of. I am surprised BOTH are bad at once. NOT TYPICAL. The good tire shop will give you a better second opinion.

HTH,

Sounds over rated as usual coming from the stealership..... What is it doing?
