There was a different performance tune on the PCM which gained it a 5HP advantage or so.

After that, the "R/T" became nearly all marketing and no performance. Looks cool, but technically is the same vehicle as the SLT+ on a performance level.

Yup!

The tune advanced the timing which requires 91 octane minimum. Also talk of different heads were reported which would allow more air/fuel uping compression ratio.

Same could be said for the use of "Magnum", was thrown around for marketing purpose.

There are "R/T heads" but never have they been included as stockers from the factory. R/T heads are & always have been been aftermarket only usually available from Mopar Performance and speed shops nation wide.

Use what your truck runs best on. If you get no problems or pinging, 89 is fine. If you see issues, move up in octane from there.

No it is not bad to run 93. I run 91 because of my tune and that's the majority of all we can get in Indy. Few stations carry 93 or 94 here.

93 will show you the best feul mileage and cleanest burn avalible.

87 and up can be used as well. 91 is our top here and runs great!

Yea, 93 and 94 are really hard to find here. 91 or 92 in some places is the common best you can get.

I recall seeing TWO different types of Diesel in Utah first before I ever saw the low sulfur stuff elsewhere.

I love the Springdale Utah area south of US9 and the Zion Park area. Simply beautiful there. I think that is on the other side of the state from you HS? We were simply driving and killing time leaving from Lake Powell and headed to Vegas the most scenic way we could. If I ever disappear, you can find me near Springdale.
