Thanks!

So this is the equivalent of a valley pan then? Goes between the intake and the block?

What am I looking at time wise to pull & replace - something that can be done in a day with basic tools?

Yeah the stocker is cheap and flimsy and prone to gasket leaking, the solid aluminum stregthens it up. I dont recall the time frame of removal though, someone else might be able to shout out.

If you have the tools and parts Total Time is looking at 2 hours. But thats if you've done it before.

First look down the Throttle Body and see if you have any oil puddled down there in the bottom.

http://www.apsprecision.com/billetplenum.html

or

or the hughes version

I have heard novice time to swap the plenum is 8+ hours.

The washer fluid question was a test question to confirm you had a shroud. Have a shroud... and you also have a overflow tank since they are all one piece.

The 'dry' coolant around the neck was wet moments ago. It 'dries' right away on a 200 degree metal surface. THERE is your leak. If the neck just looks bad, who cares. If it is bad, replace of course. It's the gasket that is allowing the loss. Take it off, swap the stat and gasket and your set there (if the neck is good.)

Damn, I checked my oil 1 1/2 qts low. Looked in the intake and there is oil. I can rebuild engines and do frame off restorations so this should be easy but I don't have a service manuel. Can someone give me instructions on how to fix this?

I have the PDF for 2000's that I can email to ya but I also need your motor size and it looks like you have a 2000. PM me with it. The PDF is about 5.32 mb. Too big for an upload here.

You could always buy a Chiltions manual.

Thanks Hydra it is not that hard, the intake is off, just need to clean it up and start the reassembly. I need to get the torque specs but I think I can find them online.

First get a Chiltons Manual because you need to install new gaskets in the right order and silicone in only contact points of the gaskets.

Heres the specs.

On the Intake manifold using the proper torque sequence start at 72 inch.lbs moving slowly to 30 ft.lbs and following the proper torque sequence.

(3) Tighten plenum pan mounting bolts as follows using the proper torque sequence :
²
Step 1. Tighten bolts to 5.4 N·m (24 in. lbs.)

²
Step 2. Tighten bolts to 9.5 N·m (84 in. lbs.)

²
Step 3. Check all bolts are at 9.5 N·m (84 in.

lbs.)
