Default a/c trouble

I noticed my air conditioning was not very cold on my 01 durango,so I decided to add freon. As I was adding freon I noticed my compressor would kick on for 1 second and then shut off for 10 seconds, even though I had both front doors open so it would be hot inside and a.c. would not shut off.On occasion it would make this noise and release {I am assuming freon} out of the back of compressor.Any ideas what is happening and what i need to do to fix it....thank you in advance

Either your low or high pressure switch is being engaged... What is the pressure on the line? Please tell me you are using a kit with at least a gauge?

You are very low on freon. Some can do the recharge at home with the right tools. Unfortunately a can and the hose you get with it isn't the right tools. Spend $99 and get it recharged at a shop somewhere. If you don't it could get worse/cause problems.

Speaking of which, you could already have problems. Where did the freon go that was in there? Name: icon_confused.gif
