Headers/cams any one?
what is your guys opinion on after market headers? i was looking at some jba shorty headers

they look nice unlike the oem cast iron junky looking ones that my durango currently has. i also would like the extra power and sound they give.
if you have aftermarket headers do you like them? and also what aftermarket cams do you guys recommend i can't find any for the durango i might just be searching incorrectly. any help greatly appreciated.

That is the reason for headers. The stock exhaust manifold does not allow exhaust to flow freely like headers do because the slugs of exhaust from one cylinder get in the way of exhaust from other cylinders. Headers are designed to allow each exhaust pulse room to clear the pipe before the next pulse from another cylinder runs into it. Think of headers like a really good traffic control system allowing everyone through at just the right moment.

True but you gotta have the required air flow to get the proper back pressure or you can burn the valves not to mention loss of low end torque.
I have the air flow requirments on my ride and am looking into shorties but I'm really modified.

I have JBA shorties (and other stuff too) and couldn't be happier. They were the 1st ones out when the hemi came. The difference in power is noticable. The difference in mileage, when not into it, is as well.
I consider them my favorite modification.
