Default U joint loose? Something in driveterrain?

Ok, so I have the 01 4.7 4x4 D. Cold or warm, does the same thing. When you are just crusin down the road, then let off the gas then push on the gas, it jerks a little bit.

Same thing when you are coming out of a high gear fast, like when you really punch it then let off, it jerks a little bit. But enough to notice it. I think it might be a U joint or something loose on the drive terrain.

Am I right or???

Sometimes I do, but not every single time. It depends on where the D is.

Could be slop in the chain in the transfer case.

Also could be U-joint or simply a shift kit that was installed before you bought it?

It might be a chain, definitely not a shift kit, I want one though!

If it is the chain how would I tighten it?

You need to drop the transfer case and insert a new chain. You can't simply tighten it. You also need to check the rear end.

But remember that this is simply an idea and may not be the problem consitering that it threw codes?

Nope did not throw any codes at me, But I did not know if you could tighten the chain or not. I was thinking it may be like a timing chain, where you can just tighten the adjusters or something like that. But I will check it out and let you guys know what I am going to do!

Well, I figured out most of it. I first checked my Transfer Case fluid, now that was a little low. So I filled that up. Checked my U-joints, and one was a little loose. Fixed that. Now It drives a lot better!! But it still has a little bump in it, I was talking to a friend (He has worked on transfer cases for over 24 years) of mine and he said that a little bump is normal. So I guess the case is solved!
