Tech gurus< NEED HELP! Oil sludge build up
#21
I want to see this sludge monster proof. My bet is its a skim at best. Also, I want proof they are his photos and not something found.
We hear a lot about sludge but then it turns out not to be sludge afterall. If this guy had all that in the pan, the motor is done too.
Running along with 50,000 miles per oil change will do that for sure. With regular common sense maintenance, never as issue. 4.7s produce snot, but not sludge when used right.

cmon dude, my time is far to precious to bull**** people i dont know. I have been repairing vehicles for about 12-13 years and have never seen anything like this before. I work on about 2 cars a day, so I kinda pressed for time, however i did take 4-5 pics for the naysayers. They are time stamped, so they are genuine.
In some spots, the underside of the pan gasket has slugde areas that are a 1/4". Most of the sudge is only 1/16 to 1/8". There is enough on the gasket alone to make prolly 2-3 golf ball sized sludge *****.

Not quite the sludge monster it was made out to be initially.
We get a lot of people crying wolf with zero ability to back anything up. I am not saying you are/did, just that the story is changing a bit. Those crying wolf are usually hater trolls and don't stick around because they really don't even had a Durango or a Dodge. Your continued posts proves already you are no troll.
I know as a mechanic, you know that sludge is never good regardless. It is evidence of either improper maintenance or improperly working parts. What is the history of maintenance on this motor? Who has owned it? How many miles? Average driving conditions where it has been used?

That's sludge, and he isn't a troll, but that isn't what was referred to as "in dire straits right now... with a serious sludge problem... HOLY S**T there is serious sludge in there - up to 3/8" in some spots"
What you have is a case of very poor maintenance. THIS is "serious" "3/8" sludge problem with "dire straights"...
