Champion Copper plugs (OEM) yes these are the $2 plugs or Champion Truck plugs $3, or Champion Iridium plugs $9.

I would only use one of these.

Usually the fuel pump will pressurize the line quickly so the engine will start quickly. However, if you are cranking an extra 3 seconds then the fuel pump may be going bad. Same thing happened to me. Replaced fuel pump and starts instantly.
Clues:
Takes longer to start first time in morning after sitting overnight.
Starts quickly after being off for only a few minutes.
Test:
Before turning the key to start - turn key to on, wait 3 seconds, turn key off then turn key to start. Does it start quicker?
Maybe someone will prove me wrong.
cap, plugs, and wires are easier to replace than fuel pump.

Thanks everyone for the help, i think i'm going to replace the plugs, wires, and cap just to tune it up a little bit and if that doesn't fix the problem i'll go for the fuel pump.

in response to the last post - yes the initial start of the morning is tough and it seems if i drive it a little while and turn it off and back on it starts right up so you may be onto somethin there...

FYI... You don't have a cap, you have a 4.7 remember?

You have a 4.7L so you don't have wire, cap, or rotor. You simply have coil over packs (one on each plug). You simply take the coil over off and remove the plug. Gap the plug and reinstall for each one.

This is the good reason for ownership of the 4.7L over the 5.2L or 5.9L.

If you call all that extra crap that can fail "good" and the fact one coil pack costs more than our wires, cap and rotor to replace if need be, and there there are 8 of those packs or more depending on the year of the D... yea... that's the good reason for 4.7 ownership.

J/k! Good luck on yours. Again, swap those plugs and let see what happens!!
