Touched POS on battery with tool, now won't run?
Well I was working on the D last night. I had just changed the radiator hose, and was trying to loosen the bleed screw. Well it was really tight, so I got a breaker bar lol. Well I accidentally touched the pos side of the battery with it connected and it blew a nice spark. Now the D, will turn over and almost run, but will never actually stay running.
When the key is turned to the "on" pos the fuel pump primes and I actually hear it. So I'm pretty sure it's getting fuel. So I'm thinking since it's getting fuel, it must not be getting and spark. I made sure all the injectors and the plug wires were all plugged in. I checked the fuses that I could see and they looked good. I swapped out some relays with others and still couldn't get it to run.
Anyone got any helpful hints, I have ran out of what could've happened.

We did hit the gas a few times while trying to get it to run. It didn't help any, it was still doing the same thing. I pulled the battery cable off for about 20 sec, still didn't work. At first it had no power, that's when I pulled the battery cable off, then I had power after that. Just now it won't stay running.
It sounds like it's bout to start but never does.

try to reset the PCM (disconnect the neg battery cable and hold the key to start for 30 sec) and try again, but there is a chance that you fried the PCM by grounding the battery like that, try it and get back to us and dont jump on the new pcm bandwagon just yet im sure other people will have other (much cheaper) suggestions to try first
PDC? Are you referring to the fuse box? I am getting a test light tonight to check the little fuses. How can I check the large "box" fuses? The ones with the clear window on top? I looked at them but I may very well be looking over a bad one. Anyways to actually test them to see?

one would think, but that is not always the case, and another thought is that the shock through the system could also have fried the crank position sensor (i think) is the one which tells the pcm when to fire so if all the fuses are good start by checking that sensor and im sure someone else will have other sensors that could have been damaged (really any of them, but which ones are necessary for the truck to start)
The PDC is the Power Distubution Center and yes it is the fuse box under the hood. Pull the fuses out and check them with continuity or look for a burned one. The main ones I am talking about run down the center of the PDC, but check em good. Also lesson to ^ Sharp ^ as well.
I have seen this before and the user took out the PCM (computer) and the CTM (central control module). I pray your alright.

hehe double post hydra, and i think you meant listen, not lesson
and good point that the CTM is in there too he could have fried any of the sensors pcm/ctm/tcm(is it new enough for one of those???)
