Hi, havent posted in a while. Just had a new battery put in my 02 Durango. A few hours later my chk engine light is on. Code is P0132 1/1 025 shorted to voltage. Whatever that is. Everything seems to run normal. Is the code there because a new battery has been installed and will reset by it self eventually? Or is something wrong? Thankyou for any input.

P0132 1/1 O2S Shorted To Voltage

It's an O2 sensor. Looks like the upstream one,......AKA.....Before the Catalytic Converter. You might need a tune up.

What year, motor, and is it 4X4?

First do a PCM Reset. Look at the 1st post at the top for instuctions here: Engine Code Index (Check Engine Light?)

Remember on an older post, someone had a problem with their 02 sensors. After many post, we came up with power steering switch was leaking on a 4.7L engine. that was pushing P/S fluid thru the harness and up to the PCM. The P/S fluid was shorting out the 02 sensors.

i could also just be you got water in the harness, i had that problem back in june when it rained 8 out of every 7 days, driving thru all the puddles and rain must have gotten water in the harness (no it was not possible to avoid the puddles) i cleared the codes and they never came back, you could try that and hope for the best (best of all this is free to try)

Sure it could have gotten water in the connectors, But they should be sealed. I think the member live in reno,nv that replaced all 02 sensors two times before we nailed down the problem to the P/S switch. But i don't where mack24 lives either. The engine was a 4.7L .
