Does the truck actually shift into overdrive on the highway when at cruise? You could be stuck in 3rd instread of shifting into overdrive. Just a guess

yes it shifts into overdrive, and runs through all the gears just fine.

Go to autozone to pull codes (usually free) as your transmission may have a bad sensor or worse as this link suggests:

Ok let me clear this up. the circle around the D blinks when I accellerate over like 65mph and races from P N R D 1 2, I checked the fluid and it all where it should be. I have never owned a dodge before so im not sure what it could be. and what i found on the net is not really helpful. Thank you any info would be appreciated thanks

are you sure that you have the gearshift selector locked into the D position? it should click and settle in if you push the lever towards the dash did you try doing a fluid/filter change? that might help, the other possibility could be a bad connection for the selector light

Could be a Transmission Control Module going out. It is located by the passenger side head light under the hood. I think you should be good to go to a bone yard to pick one up.
