20w-50 doesn't have the needed additives but sense the motors on it's last leg you might try some additives?

Yeah, I'll probably mix up a cocktail of stuff. I am thinking now a little Auto-Rx for the cleaning to start. I'll check out BITOG to see what help I can get over there too.

FWIW, I've commuted a week now and still no more unpleasant drops to zero pressure. Knock on wood.
