Orginal Battery in a 2002 is this possible?
One other question about the used 2002 Durango - when I looked at the magic eye in the battery it was black but still started up fine. However, I decided I would change it out to avoid a dead battery coming out of work one cold night. Got an Interstate. When I took the cover off the battery there was a plastic clip holding the negative wire in position that I promptly busted trying to get it loose in the cold. The battery had no name or radio dot date coding - just a plain Group 27 size black battery. I wonder if it could have been the factory orginal; especially with the clip in place - I doubt most people could have gotten that off or would have been able or had the desire to put it back so neat. Just wondering - if so that was a heck of a fine battery - 8 years old.
my dads 03 dak (early in the model year) held its battery till this year so thats 6 years, if the person who drove it put alot of long trips on it i could believe it, uncommon, but NOT unblievable
I've seen them go out in nothing flat and some go what seems like forever? Average is only 4 years though.

My OEM only lasted 3 years. Afterwards, my D seems to love eating Walmart batteries! haha. Good thing I bought their premo battery with 3 year free replacement! Been killing these batteries every 2 years! But so far, I have not paid a single penny as each replacement battery, my 3 year free replacement starts over. However, this latest current battery seems to be a heavier duty bigger battery compared to previous. Maybe it will actually last up and thru the 3 year free replacement this time.
I hear ya on that Kensai, I used to get their large yellow heavy duty. That by far lasted the longest for me, but when accidently overcharging and blowing the top seal (not really blowing, but leaking at the top seal) i brought it back and all they had was the inferior new model
I went through two a year untill i lost my receipt... Optima' and farm batteries been holding me just fine now
