Exclamation 2000 durango itermittent start

Hey everyone first time post
I have 2000 5.9L durango with an intermittent start problem. Problem always happens on the first start of the day. Truck cranks strong but there is no spark or signal of any kind making it to the coil. I try a half hour later and odds are the truck will fire right up and from this point on the truck runs perfect. Then i am generally good for the day until the next morning and this does not even happen everyday. The truck has a new PCM, I have also replaced the crank sensor and the ASD relay. There are also no P codes on the odometer it just says P done.

Help

I had a similar problem with my 5.9 turned out to be the plug wire going to the coil. Would happen in the morning usually when it was damp out side.

Try to turn the truck to the "On" position for about 15 seconds then try to start it. Sounds like it could be a check valve in the fuel pump.

You should be able to hear the fuel pump humming with the key in the "On" position and not "Start" coming from the rear of the truck???????

did you check all the connections going to the coil, especially the plug connections to the PCM, if they come loose they will cause problems, also check the crankshaft sensor plug to make sure its tight if the computer doesnt know where the cs is it doesnt know when to fire the coil

Could be a pickup sensor (camshaft sensor) located in the distributor cap.

Default Camshaft

Can the cam shaft sensor prevent spark being sent to the coil?

if the computer is not getting a signal from it, it assumes that the engine is not turning, and in that case, why would it fire the coil if the engine isnt turning?

Can This cause a problem once the car is running because once it starts there is never a problem!
