Vents in '99 not changing
My '99 Durango blows air fine and at what appears to be full force when the switch is to the defrost. When the switch is moved to the defrost/lower front (feet and leg area) selection or just to the feet and leg selection no air comes out those vents under the dash. I think my problem is that the vents are not opening or the air is not being directed to those vents. I have not looked under the dash yet. Is this a vacuum system or a manual cable operated system? Or is it electical? I am hoping that something just came unhooked. Any direction regarding where to start looking would be appreciated.
The person above me has been hanging out with hydra too much, hitting the pubs early.
Blend door has no control over the vent flow location. Your problem is vacuum related, it may be as simple as the line on the engine bay firewall/leak at the control, or harder a leak behind the dash.
The vacuum is pulled from your engine, into the dash (under the heater core lines in the engine bay), the switch on the dash directs the vacuum to the appropriate settings and pulls a diaphram that open/closes a certain valve
