did you check the IAC? should be on the back of the throttle body held on by a couple of torx screws, sounds to me like its dirty/bad for $30(well last time i had to get one but its been a while) you might as well just replace it

Did your truck sit for a while before restarting? Do you need to goose the throttle to keep it from dying? If so, what he^ said, bad IAC. BTW, it's around $70 now. Or... how old is your battery? Does the idle stumble before catching? Strange things have been known to happen to our Ds because of a subpar battery. Just sayin'.

Do you have the gray key head? It sounds like the theft system is shutting you down.

Some Ds can be fitted with demobilizers from the factory. Hence the gray key, it has a RFID in it to transmit a code for the engine to turn over. Without it, no start.
