sludge
Ok i bought my durango in october at a auction. My sister works at a dodge dealer so she looked up the vin and it had been at this auction for over a year. The sticker in the window said the oil had not been changed in over a year. so i put some cheap oil in a and run it for a week to flush any thing out and a bunch of crap came out. i change it again and there is still crap in the oil.(sludge) what can i do to get it out. i dont want to use motor flush. any thoughts.

you have crap in the engine, but dont go calling it sludge unless you open the engine up and have pictures to PROVE it, put some decent oil in it and run seafoam in it for a couple hundred miles then change the oil AND FILTER!!!!!!!!!! and keep an eye on it, if the oil pressure starts running low change it again, but running seafoam through the engine should break everything down enough and clean it out to put in a better position, but make sure you use a decent filter, mopar, mobile1 napa gold ect

yeah i change the filter ever time i change the oil. i use wix. i like the seafoam idea i love seafoam. the oil pressure goes to 40 at idle an up to about 65 while on the freeway. i wasnt calling it sludge i was wondering if it was. but yeah im hoping that it isnt sludge. i have pulled some motors apart that had 3/4" of sludge in them. nasty.
I think Indy said it was more of a frothing effect from not having a damper in the fill neck. There is some dried stuff in my oil neck but I wouldn't call it sludge.

you are referring to the yellowish/tan "snot" which comes out the filler neck, i get a very little bit in the winter only, and i think he is referring to stuff dropping out when he drains the oil?
it really shouldnt, but any sediment/breakdown in the oil will settle over time to the bottom of the oil pan and then come out when you drain/change it
i would suggest that you run seafoam in it and then change the oil (a full change filter and all) right before parking it and then after you take it out of storage change the oil again after running it for a little bit (drive it home from the storage garage ect)
also disconnect the battery and get the wheels off the ground if at all possible (prevents dry rot in the tires) and change the other fluids when you bring it out (front and rear differential, transmission ect ect)

at least not without proof/reasoning to back it up and sludge is usually more of a jelly-like substance afaik
