Default A/c Compressor

Hi Folks, My 2003 durango's a/c compressor has a mind of his own and I need to fix that. What is going on is, when I am going down the road the a/c commpressor cycles on/off without my help from inside. Does anyone have an idea of the problem?

Thanks in advance..any help will be appreciated.

what position is the hvac control in? is the a/c light on? is it on the defrost setting? if you have the defrosters blowing then the a/c compressor will cycle

i dont think i would attempt to cycle, even low on freon, if he has it turned off in the dash (i think the believes that he has the a/c turned off, i could be mistaken)

If it cycles only when the ac/heat is on, then yeah as he said the system is low on refrigerant and maybe have a leak.

He could have over filled it.. that is of course if he is trying to run the AC.. overfill or over servicing with oil will cause the compressor to shut off due to over pressure on the high side..

If the pump cannot maintain pressure by default it will compress (low R134) without A/C or defrost engagement.
