Default 99 durango rebuild

I would like to get any ideas about making my trans a little stronger than stock,, i do not want to have to worry about,,. Not really sure which one i have but it is a 318 truck 4 wheel drive. The pan is square with a corner cut off. The truck was bought with a bad rod , I only drove it a few miles before it let go the trans seemed ok in that short amount of time but the fluid is dark, and the truck had sat for about 5 years before i got it. should i just reseal it and a new torque converter,, is there a better converter to use,. I have the trans on my bench right now , will start taking it apart in a day or so..

No.

Install a Transgo Shift Kit. Get an oversized torque converter for the added velocity. Don't do rebuilt converters.

You need to find out what that trans is?

I know im a little late but if u havent done anything yet try out Dirtydogperformance.com Alan is a real good guy hes been in the tranny business for many years. I like to use "The Sure Cure" by Sonnex there the best in my mind it solve all the problems with the engagements and the flow problem as well
