No it will not.
Just get yours serviced. Slippage is common when not properly serviced. Drop pan (never flush), drain, replace filter with Mopar replacement and most importantly, adjust the bands, change fluids. Slippage gone as long as the trans isn't toast.

You need to start with the basics,ck fluid....low add and drive and verify no 2nd gear, is the ck engine lite on? Do you know if the transmission starting off in 2nd gear instead of 1st. this happens alot when the governor sensor goes bad. Drop the pan and inspect for lots of metal, a little is okay. ck band adjustments and replace the filter and sensors if you want too. Here is a easy way to see if you are starting off 2nd. Put the lever in drive and start off, then come to a stop and move the lever in low gear range. If you notice a big diff the way it start off, the problem is with the valve body and again maybe just the sensors. Also ck your kick down cable to for adjustment. This also known as T.V. cable and throttle pressure cable. You need to do these first and maybe save some money from a overhaul or just have it replaced.
