Default 98 durango 4x4 5.2
I have driven numerous Durangos with 5.2.
Some seem to have more torque than others.
Mine is not as torqey as some, were there different gear ratios in rear in 98?

Yes, some have different axles/gear ratios. Take a look under your hood and tell me if you see and "Factory Update" stickers anywhere, esp on the the radiator support.

A 3.92 rear end will pull nicely. 3.8 not so much IIRC.

Gear ratio's available are 3.92 and 3.55's only from factory. If it had the 3:92:1 gearing the torque would be dramatically different.

3.55s... thats right. 3.92 and 3.55s. Big difference.

its ok indy, we will assume that you use the number pad, the 8 is right next to the 5
