Hi,
I have a 2001 Durango 4WD 5.9L. A rodent has unfortunately moved into the engine compartment, and chewed a hose off. There is a hose connection right in the middle / under the passenger side fuel rail, i guess going into the intake plenum, pointing towards the passenger side valve cover. When the engine is running, there is a little suction, and the engine idle speed changes when the hole is closed and opened. I have looked and looked, and I can't figure out where it is supposed to be hooked up to. Any ideas?
Sounds like a PVC intake tube. You will need to pick one up from the dealer as it is a pre-bent hose. While your there replace the PCV valve and grommet. You can pick up all the parts at the dealer for a reasonable cost.
I have tried to find it in the manual, read through all of the 2307 pages, twice, and I can't find any reference to it. I don't think it's the PCV valve or related hoses, that is well documented in the manual and appears to be intact.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it!
As far as the mouse goes....I am surrounded by woods....it's an ongoing kinda thing....I defend the indoors successfully, but outdoors it's a loosing battle.
