Hey, Sorry it took so long to reply.
I'm getting 14.4v at idle.

Now that it's warming up and having ran a tank with injector cleaner, it actually seems to be running a little better. I'm still getting misfires under normal to heavy load, but if i'm on a straight surface and barely touch the pedal it doesnt misfire.

Question

Well, I've changed the crank sensor and cam sensor with no luck.
I was getting planning on doing a compression check tomorrow. But, today was actually nice enough to turn the heater off on the way home. About halfway home I turned off the heat at a stop light and it stopped surging. It still seems to misfire as I accelerate though.

I never did a load test on the battery as suggested earlier. Is this my obvious next step?

Test your battery and clean your connections.

Battery tested good and all the connections are nice.

Getting P0300 (multiple/random misfires) and P0306 (misfire in #6) now...

As we were doing a compression test the other day, I noticed the #6 spark plug had unburnt fuel on it. Of course I didn't mark the coils when I pulled them off to do the compression test so I just put them back on in a random order.

Well, i ended up getting the same codes again. So I took another coil I had, put a plug in it and hooked it up to the #6 plug wire then ran the engine. It was arching on the head. That leads me to believe that it has to be the injector. But, I tested the injector's resistance and it was around 14.5 ohms.

Is it possible my o2 sensors are bad? I would think they would throw a code if they were bad. But, I was thinking that may be my next step to check. I do have a slight exhaust leak too, btw...

Any more suggestions? I don't know what to do.. Thanks again everyone!

make sure all the electrical connectors are plugged into the right coil packs, or plug wires are plugged into the right cylinders.. (forgot which engine u have) also make sure those wires are not fried somewhere..

Yeah, I made sure all the coil packs were plugged into the correct plugs on the loom and I didn't see any signs of fried wires. Though most of the loom is covered. Didn't really uncover the entire thing.

the O2 sensors should not cause misfires, but it could cause the engine to run rough/rich/lean, and get poor gas mileage

CudaVert do not worry you are not the only one having issues with a 4.7L. I own a 2005 DR 1500 4x4 with the 4.7 L and am having the same code kicking up. I also did the whole E3 plug swap and started from there. Changed plugs to Champion Coppers and also changed out the coil pack. Still was not having any luck. Ran SeaFoam through for injector cleaner and didn't seam to help. Asked the girlfriends dad's opinion (seeing as he works at a Dodge dealership) and he had me replace the EGR valve as the EGR dumps back into the intake directly over the #6 cylinder. Changed and had no luck. Just changed the injector today, still did it. Took injectors back out swapped the #2 and #6 injectors to see if the misfire followed did not. I am probably going to swap the coil packs between six and four and see what that does. If any of this helps you or anyone has suggestions into any other direction I should go let me know at this point I'm willing to try anything. Been fighting this issue for a month now and about to give in and take to garage but I really hate to...
