I'm about 90% sure mine says "MAGNUM V8" and I don't know if it's connected or not-if it's not connected then would it be stupid to take it off if you can't take the whole thing off you think???

Yes, that is the badge. It says V8 Magnum and has a hole behind it. You can see the same badge here on the fender of my Durango.
