I was just making sure that when I take the emblems off the back/side of my truck that there's no screwholes underneath or anything unsightly. I know there's going to be a little bit of a color difference but that ought to go away after a while.

nope they just glue on should come off fairly easily, you can use paint thinner to get off the adhesive, just wash and wax it immediately after you are finished

 

A little heat and a very very very soft plastic scraper usually does the trick. The only emblems that have holes are the V8/V6 badges on the front fender.

 

My 1998 Durango were glue on's.

 

So were mine. I know cause they were off when I bought the D.

Anyway, WD-40 does a great job in removal of adhesives.

 

You can also use fishing line or dental floss. Start on a corner of the letter and slowly work the line under the adhesive. When finished, use Goo Gone to remove any residue. Then you can compound/polish the area to diminish the paint differences (the paint under the letters/emblem is darker. I do this a lot on BMW's and other cars that want "de-badging".

wd-40 is a good idea...and what is the final verdict on the ones on the fender? Cuz I was planning on taking those off as well.

 

The V8 on the fender DOES have a bolt hole. All the others do not.
