Default yellowed headlights

more annoying questions from me...lol the headlight lenses are yellowed on the truck and i'm looking for feedback on aftermarket clear/euro style headlights. i'm not interested in the rice rocket look, just want to see if there are any decent clear replacements.

Most eBays suck. DEPO is a good name brand. You can always clean your stockers if they are not broken.

You actually "sand" the yellow away. Search the 'net for the procedures and products to use.

Mothers Mag Wheel polish and a buffer works great.
Go easy though, and take your time.

You just want to slightly blend the lense, not melt it!!!!

You can hand buff too, but the final finish will not look as nice.

Default Headlight Restoration

If you have the tools and products available, it will take some time (I can spend up to 2 hours on BMW headlights). If you don't have access to the equipment, you might be better off with new lenses.

I wet sand with 1500 grit and move to 2500 grit paper, Then, 3M compound and a wool pad on a rotary polisher until the lenses are clear. Follow that with a good polish like Meguiar's DACP or Menzerna and you're done.

Here's an example:

There are some kits available for headlight restoration, but the above equipment does just as good if you have it.

The UV rays from the sun are what make them yellow..My first Intrepid had one light yellow and one clear as the PO had it parked next to his garage and the one light never saw sunlight while sitting
