Default 2000 D trans shift ?

new to site, searched but could not find my problem listed.
2000 Dodge Durango 318 ? ? ?
122000 miles.
Had the fluid changed around 100000.

In the cold months my D shifts funny,

Crank it in the morning , let warm up for 5 minutes. Back out of driveway, start down the road. First shift is good but second shift .
Ok, R's rev to about 4000 then shifts or if I hit the gas and let off it shifts.
After about 5 miles , stop at red light. All shifts work fine from there on.

Now in the summer months I have no problem with the shift.
The warmer the outside air the better it runs.

To me it kinda sounds like the clutches may be sticking or the bands are out of adjustment because it is related to weather. Have you had the trans fluid changed regularly?

Did they use the ATF+4 fluid and adjust the trans correctly?

I'd take it back!

as for adjusting the trans correctly?

I think that all they did was the fluid and filter.

There are adjustments that need to be done when they service the trans. Take it back because it sounds like they didn't adjust it correctly.

Do you know if the throttle cable is out of adjustment? You could also have a sticky governor solenoid or band adjustments, like the others have said.
