Default Strange electrical gremlin

Hi all, i am new to this forum & have an electrical question for the brain trust here.
I hope this has not been asked 1000 times, or if it has, then maybe you have the answer for me.
I am having an issue with what i think is the "door open" sensor, the symptoms are as follows:
Maybe once a day, when i turn the car on, the interior lights won't turn off, the headlights turn on, and the "door open" light is on the dash.
When i turn the car off the door dinger dings as if i left the lights on.
If i disconnect the battery for a second, then reattach the neg. it resets & i'm good for a day or so.
Is there a sensor that could be failing, & if so where is it? I really hope it's not in the nether regions of the dash.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Brent

Central Timing Module (CTM)

It is located under the drivers side kick panel (by the E-brake) but you have to have a dealer flash it with your vehicle info. You must also take BOTH your key Fob's in to have them flashed into the new CTM so your Fob's will work unlocking the door. I've heard if you have the dealer do the whole thing your talking around $450.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that. But that's only one of the few things you have to bring to the dealer to do.

yup sounds like CTM and yes the dealer needs to program it for you, bring both key fobs as hydra said for the remote locks if you want them to work

anytime a dealer's involved, might as well just bend over and get prepared. A regular mechanic is enough of a rip off as it is, a dealer you might as well start throwing money out the window on the way there

Tell me when and where you'll be doing that. I'll be behind you with a BIG net! LOL!
