4.7 head removal

heads are finally on and the chains all look good. timing marks are all looking good too.
i would like to shake the hand of the man who thought that torque plus angle head bolts was a good idea. and while i have a hold of his hand i would like to drag him into my left fist as hard as i can.
torquing those bolts was much much easier than i expected, but getting the angle right was a beyond difficult. i got a cheap angle reader thing from autozone which got the job done. i spent hours getting those heads bolted on.
this is the torque wrench that i bough (on recommendation from my machinist, and verified results searching the net):
http://www.lowes.com/pd_148611-1074-...wrench$y=0$x=0
it has very smooth action and a very crisp break at spec.

Glad to see you are on the road with a little help from someone I know, oh yea it's me!....LOL
This is the one I have but it works.....http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-hal...rench-239.html I also have access to better ones for refined work so I don't see the reason to buy another.

you have been a great help. i am, however, not running yet. still have the accessories to do and a couple other things. not worried though. should be on the road by weeks end

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
.... and it stinks!
so far, no weird noises, but it is making a stink and some smoke under the hood. i am assuming it is the exhaust manifold gaskets burning or i have an exhaust leak. it could also be oil, lube, or anti-seize burning off of something.
do these manifold bolts need to be re-torqued at any time?
THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HELPED!
more to come.... pics, tips, etc.

It will stink for a few miles and that's normal cause of the leaking fluids and seating, remember it's a rebuild not new.
As for re-torquing, I think you should be fine but keep an eye out and you could try just to ensure the visual bolts but it's not manditory. Don't worry about the non-visual bolts.
