Shift RPM's
I have a 2000 Durango 5.9L 4X4, my question is what is the right RPM for an auto tranny to shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd?. Just making sure mine is shifting okey.
Thanks for the help

Depends on how hard you are pressing the skinny pedal.
what gr8scott said, if you are on it easy mast_techs speed numbers are correct, if you push it to the floor iv come close to 40 in first (dont bitch at me for it, iv done it ONCE and it was either that or get creamed by the dumbass trucker coming up behind me)
There's a highway near my house that has NO merge lane! It's stop and full go!!! I love that entrance!
I floor it as well and love the way more expensive cars realize I'm coming up fast on their tails! Hehehehe...
But yeah, what master and scott said.

yea i had an on ramp like that to get home from work last summer, i almost took out some tool in an srt8 charger one day too (dumbass came up behind me, tried to gun it AROUND me to get off the exit ramp at the other end of the <100yard accel lane)

he came close to eating D grille into his passenger door, he had a roll on me, id guess 20-25 mph, and if it had been from a stop, idk how it woulda gone, probably alot of exhaust, but if i hadnt locked up the breaks id have hit him, and then he had the ***** to scream at me (i could see him baking gestures and screaming and leaning over the passenger seat as i drove away form the tool)
although to be honest, considering he had a lighter vehicle (charger) with a bigger engine (the SRT has the 6.1L hemi w/ about 180 hp on me) he should not have had a problem getting ahead of me so in all honesty, he sucks at driving

I think everyone mis-understood my question. My question was about what RPM not what speed does my truck should shift at 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. And I'm talking normal driving.
