First Durango - Wouldn't start - Thank you!
Hi all,
First off, you guys are AWESOME!
My 2000 4.7 AWD Durango wouldn't start all the sudden one day... Would turn over, got spark to the plugs, fuel pump was OK... I couldn't figure out what to do...
...Spark plugs were black, so I replaced them (I love the way they're in there...), cleaned the intake while I had stuff out of the way giving me easier access to it, and got it to start!
But, she ran VERY poorly (sputtering, etc), and was throwing code 1391. Couldn't find info on it at the OBDII site, but, you guys had it
Gonna replace the CKP / CMP tomorrow, according to the posts I've found here. Doesn't look like they'll be too hard. I'll see if I can take some pictures along the way, and post 'em here for the next guy that runs into this apparently common problem.
Can't wait to get this beast back on the road, but, wanted to register, and post a thanks for this wonderful resource!

Welp. Finally got around to it. Swapped out the Camshaft Position Sensor (about $24 at Advance), and she runs just perfect now Had a crankshaft sensor, but, it appears it didn't need it.
Cam sensor didn't want to come out, and I managed to snap off the mounting flange getting it out, but, got it out after about 30 mins of swearing and pb blaster. New one went in without an issue.
I love how the air box is attached... 10mm socket worked well enough to remove that torx nut.
I see someone's already got pics up, and I forgot to, so....
