PCM VIN question 4
Hi all.
I need to get a new PCM for my van...
I have an issue though...
I put a stock 360/harness/46re in my van and when I sent to original PCM (that had the VIN from the donor van) to a rebuilder, he screwed it up and I ended up having to dispute the charge with my CC and the whole relationship went to hell...basically he used my PCM as a core and ordered the wrong one and then tried to blame someone else etc etc...
That was about a year ago.
@alloro I think you are correct about my ABS light being on as I am researching VIN programming. My used PCM is out of a 3500, so the brake would be 4 wheel ABS and the light should come on
So I need to figure out a VIN for the rebuilt PCM I have now...
Can I use my VIN - change the engine digit to 360 V8 (my VIN presently say 6 cyl) - that should work? Correct?
that all I see that would need to be changed.
Or should I just make up a VIN or go to the boneyard and find a 2000 360 V8 and recycle that VIN?
Thanks
