Default Door chime won't stop!

First off, I'd like to say that I'm a new member and I have searched through some threads and haven't really found anything relating to my issue. Thank you all for creating a forum where people genuinely help each other instead of harrassing them. With that said...here's my issue.

My battery dies every few days if I don't start it. I have tested the alternator and replaced the battery. I have had the durango for a little over a year now and since day one I've heard a faint buzz like a door chime yet no indication of a door ajar or seat belt unfastened. It didn't bother me at first because all I had to do to "fix" it was crank up the radio. Well, a year has gone by and now it's starting to drain the battery. I'm just wondering why it would take so long to show an issue such as draining the battery. Within the past few weeks I have had to jump it 3 times. I have downloaded the technical manual for the vehicle.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to fix or even figure out if this is what is causing the slow drain?

Thank you for your time and help.

if you want to narrow it down you could start by pulling fuses, one at a time, then putting them back in, when the noise goes away write down the number of the fuse that it was and either let us know (of course) or look up in your manual what runs off of that fuse, and that will tell you where to start looking

very hard to find a small short like this... There was a guy who had the rear windshield wiper motor not go all the way to the down position, so the wiper motor would always try to move it down with a very small hum.. being so far back he could never hear it an just by chance he was back there an heard the hum.. replaced the motor an stopped the battery drain... i would look in the door jam for the door ajar button. (its at the front of the door) pull it out check the connection as well make sure it is going to the fully closed position.. just curious, does the panel say the doors are closed? also could end up being a CTM (ECM so call it) issue.

ctm and ecm are different units, the ctm is inside the cabin and controls the lights/electronics that you can use and interfaces with most of the switches on the dashboard, the ecm[engine control module] (actually this is the ford term, dodge calls it PCM [powertrain control module]) is under the hood and controls the engine (and transmission on trucks with the 4.7, earlier years had two piece units, 03+ used a one piece unit)

the ctm is a possible culprit, but why have him spend big money if it might also be something simple??? just doesnt make sense to me

Agreed that it is a short and some sort of wiring issue. it is not the CTM (central timing module) IMHO without other odd behavior. Could even be the hatch light, the glove box light, the underhood light, any light staying on. Look a it in a pitch black environment.

Well, I've pulled all fuses and relays I could find in the usual spots in cabin and under the hood and not a dang one of them stopped the buzzing. No lights on my dash are on when all doors are closed, only "door ajar" when a door is open, as soon as it's closed the light goes off but still buzzes. If I take it up to "The Zone" can they hook up to my computer and find the source?
