Default My poor truck

Hello to everyone. I am new to the Dodge forum. Well let me get down to the nitty gritty. I own a 2000 Dodge Durango with a 5.9L and a 46RE trans.

Two years ago I had the trans. rebuilt by a well know shop. Now I am haveing problems again. At first the overdrive would kick out, so I replaced the CTT solenoid, didn't fix it. Now when my trans is cold it shifts fine but when it warms up it won't shift and I pull about 4000 rpms. The trans temp. reads over 300 and my pressure can not produce what it is calling for.

I have been told that my lines might be plugged, govenor solenoid, pressure transducer may be bad. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Well, am sure master tech will have better info for u...
could be a number of things

1. clogged radiator or clogged line, one of the lines has a check ball in it to prevent back flow into the transmission.. Sometimes this ball can become the source of line blockage do to buildup.
2.The o/d, pressure, governor regulators.. (3 of them)
3. the pump could be going bad.
U could need to hook it up to a live reading diagnostic tool an see what the reading are when they switch gears an so on.

Have ck the fluid level and condition? If the cooler lines are plugged, the transmission will not last very long. This problem will also give high temp too.First thing you need to do is have the cooler lines ck for flow, with cooler flusher. Which the dealer has. I don't know if transmission shops use it or use compress air, which is a no no.Here is one way i deal with transmissions. The transmission is the final cause, but you need to find the cause that made the transmission the final cause.

Thanks everyone! The fluid is good, replaced fluid and filter when I installed the clutch torgue converter solenoid, next I was going to replace the lines, the govenor solenoid and the pressure transducer, it may be overkill but ATF +4 gets to be expensive everytime I drop the pan. Any other advise is welcomed. This truck is my baby and I want to build it into something I am proud of....after I fix the stuff that keeps breaking. Thanks again
