Default 318 to 360 swap. What do i deed and how do i do it

I have a 1998 Dodge Durango and it has a 5.2 in it and i want to put a 5.9 in it how do i go about doing this, what will i need, and how big of a project am i looking at

the engine, the pcm (computer) and possibly the flywheel (i think) that goes btwn the engine and transmission

the blocks are the same, and the wiring harnesses are the same so you should be pretty good to go

lol im not sure if flywheel is the correct term, it might be flexplate, but i couldnt think of it last night.

Well the 5.2L pcm will work with the 5.9.. u always can upgrade later if needed.. There was another post on this exact same subject an i had said the 5.2L pcm would work, well some said no it would not, the guy posted back he did the engine swap an had no issues using the 5.2L pcm.. the 5.2 is internal balanced the 5.9 is external balanced.. you will need the harmonic balancer that was on the 5.9.. other then that all else should plug right in.

hmmm i heard that the 5.2 pcm would work, but that it wouldnt be able to put out the same power as the 5.9 pcm would on a 5.9l engine, so i suggested for the full benefit (probalby just a different program on the chip) get the computer

That is correct. It will work but not give him all the available power until he re-flashes the PCM.
