Default Driver door problem

I am kind of new to the D and not familiar with internal electronics. I have a 2000 SLT 2WD. Since I bought it, nothing responds when the driver door is opened. The headlight on reminder chime does not work, dome light doesn't come on when it's opened. The door locks and windows work and mirror adjuster works, just possibly a sensor inside the door? Looking for any possible fix with possibly a walkthrough on how to fix it. Thanks

Does the headlamps come or the wiper blades wipe?

Ck your dimmer switch, be sure the dome lite comes on. The problem could be the headlamp switch.

Yes the dimme works fine and the dome light comes on when turned all the way up. Also, the door ajar light does not come on when the driver door is opened, but comes on when any other door is opened.
