i think they are regular depth, all i know is this 2 1/4" top mount depth and that is from reading the description. I'll find out exactly when i can compare it to the stock speaker i guess.

Monster, what aftermarket speakers are you using?

Any basic wire instructions from anyone? is it as simple as buying a couple terminals and some splices cut the wire off the old speakers and connect it to the new speakers?

durango's have amps hiding somewhere right? so what are my pos and neg wire colors? well i guess i can find that out online.

Are installing speakers hard? lol I may just pay a buddy a couple bucks to do it. better than paying best buy 150 for install.

The speaker wire should be color coded, I don't know what they are but there is a standard between oem's, at least that is what a friend of mine said who do audio and car starters said. It should be labled on the stock speaker to I think. When I got mine it had polk ex series II in already. I had to add an amp and sub, jvc head unit sounds great. Speakers aren't hard to replace, just takes basic electrical connectors in most cases.

well, I'll talk to a couple guys i know and see who i can talk into giving me a hand. I'll update on how it turns out. all i have are the mid-bass's below the tweet's are gonna stay stock infinity's so we'll see how it works out.

When I bought my Durango about 3 weeks ago it came with V irtual (minus the space) Reality Sound Labs VR3 speakers. They have very good sound but not the greatest bass. Two 12" subs are going in soon though.

Anybody with a 2001+ newer model have troubles with the door latch mechanism? there are two parts the one for the inside door handle and than for the lock. i can get the lock mechanism off but for the handle the metal rod doesnt wanna come off. and theres no clips you turn like the 98-00 models as far as i can tell

iirc the door latch (the handle on the inside) is just a round rod, snap the plastic piece off and lift the rod out of the connector behind the door

and the lock slider is held in by two pieces of plastic on the main door panel, push thos apart and the whole piece of plastic tha tis the slider handle should push through to the back of the door, do this with the door panel already disconnected from everything else.

Thanks shrp, but i got her figured out.

I had a buddy put my door speakers in. the new alpines were smaller slightly than the infinity's and we had to drill new holes in the spacers and do some custom mounting but it all went smoothly he soldered the wires for better connections

but i asked about the door latches is because i didn't realize it but the windows on the rear were catching on the speakers or something and wouldn't roll up more than two inches so when i got home and realized this i tried to get the panels off and adjust the speakers myself.

got them adjusted speakers sound great and the windows roll up! job well done and only cost me 107.38 + gas lol

The alpine are 4 ohm speakers if you have the factory amp it uses 2 ohm speakers thats why i went with dealer Infinity 2 ohm speakers
