Default 98 "D" Starting Problems

Alrighty guys , I need some help. I already posted this in another section , but was advised to start a new threat so that I can get more views and more opinions. However , first of all thanks to those who have already answered in the other section. Okay so here is my problem.... I recently started to experience starting trouble with my 98 Dodge Durango. After I let my Durango sit overnight , it has some trouble cranking. When I get in and I crank it all I hear is a loud "CLICK" sound. After the third or fourth time of trying to crank it , it will eventually start and then runs fine. I have no problems starting it afterwords. The trouble only occurs whenever I let it sit for a long period of time. I thought that it might be my battery , so I went and got it changed however I still had the same problem. My Alternator tested good at a local autostore. One time after I got it finally cranked I got the error code P1682. While I know that it stands for "Charging System Voltage Too Low" , I cannot find any suggestions on how to fix it. Maybe somebody here has a solution to this problem. Please help me!

charging system voltage low would most likely be your alternator beginning to fail. You should notice on your dash the battery dial should be at 14.4 volts while the D is running and 12v or so while it is just in the "on" position without the engine running. That is what the trouble code is pointing to but it doesn't really seem like it is your problem. I would start by doing a really good check of all your wire connections. Start at the battery, check the power wire to the fuse box and then from the fuse box to the starter. Also check the power wire from the Alternator to the fuse box. The power wires are where your most likely to find corrosion but you're already dirty so don't leave out the ground wires. battery to frame, engine to frame, engine to battery. (not sure if i'm right with that one) Check to make sure none of these connections are falling off or broken.
