Default 01 R/T AC Problems

I have a 01 RT with rear air...

AC was okay while driving, ambiant temp while at idle... then the compressor started grinding

replaced compressor & dryer, flushed lines with solevent, vacumed for over an hour with no leakdown, put in 8oz of pag100 oil, recharged...

got a bit over 1lb 134 in and it would not take anymore...

reading on the gauges are... Low side-->65-85psi High side-->150-200psi

I cant get anymore freon to go in and its blowing around 70 deg on max. (ambiant temp around 95 at the time) the compressor is working and there seems to be no other problems

anyone have any idea's?????? Please help, its getting hot in AZ and I have a infant son that should be in AC not a convection oven

I should add that the front and rear are blowing identical temps and that the service is being done by a certified AC guy (neibor) and he is stumped on this right now to, he said he needs to run a code check to see if any electronics are bad.

I hear ya about the baby not being in an oven during any situation. I have a three yo and an 8 month old. IIRC, the proper amount of 134a in your dual system should be 2.44lbs. Maybe there's a blockage somewhere? I'm sure our resident a/c guru will be on here soon to help you out.

I know the system capacities... I am more worried about the fact that it is short about 1.4 lbs and will not take anymore, and the fact that the presure on the low side is to high, and the presure on the high side is to low... I have dumped alot of money into this AC already and would like to figure this out before having to dump even more

We're sorry for getting off-track. We understand your frustration. I have two sons and I want them cool like you do your son. Our resident a/c guru is 45Autopete. He should he on soon. If anyone can diagnose your problem, it's pete.
