try a new battery chances are yours is gone, especially if it has been sitting for 2 months without running the engine to keep juice flowing into it.

if the battery is more than 4 years old (average life a battery in a CAR, these trucks have much more demanding electrical systems on them so they tend to last a shorter period of time) just replace it with a new one, if you started it a bunch of times and didnt drive it you put a load on the battery, but did not give it a good chance to recharge, the alternator does NOT produce enough power to run the PCM/engine/electronics on board at idle so you were NOT charging the battery enough to keep it going.

and these trucks are picky about battery voltage to begin with, so just save yourself some headache and replace it, and clean all the terminals/contacts while you are at it to make sure you have a good tight connection

Take the new starter out and have it checked out, it can be defective. Also, check for any ground wires not correctly bolted back on and make sure your main power cable is also correctly tightened on the started.

how did they test the starter?

you can test it yourself (just to verify) on a bench with a battery and a set of jumper cables, just hook up the + and - terminals on the battery to the correct terminals on the starter.

if it does spin start tracing wires and you will find either a burnt wire, loose connection, bad wire (yes it happens, not often, but it happens) or a loose/missing ground.
