Default Vacuume

Ok I have a5.2 d and was just told by a friend that I might have a vac leak. How would I check this out with out breaking the bank?And is it a quick fix?

we need more information

why does your friend think you have a vac leak (CEL?, odd idle?)

usually vacume leaks are quick, easy fixes after you find it, finding it is a whole other story sometimes

Ok the issue I am having is in the mourning when I leave forwork when I put it in drive it's really hesatent on going but it sounds like it's sucking all kinds of air.it only does thisfirst thing in he mourning.it doesn't even both me at all the issue the problem which ruffles my feathers is when I'm at a light the idle seems to be normal but drops and it allmost feels like it's going to stall then it returns to normal.a couple of seconds later the same thing.It just started to do this but it's not all the time. I really noticed it doing this after I drove it for awhile or when it's really hot outside

if its a vacuum leak you can take it to a shop and have them do a "smoke test" they basicaly blow smoke threw the vacuum system and look for leaks, its fairly cheap to get done and would help you find it.

a smoke test is the easiest way to find a vac leak, but it does require some special equipment

and the noise you are hearing in the morning is most likely just your fan clutch being engaged from the clutch fluid settling, as long as it goes away in 1/2 a mile or so no problems there

Sounds like your EGR valve is leaking same kind of thing happened to me

Maybe the PCV... I had to replace the grommet that holds mine in place, it got dried out and would not hold a seal...

This also could have been the air breather hose off the back of the air hat.
