Default Exhaust Help?

I have a 03 Dodge Durango V8 4.7 and I have a stock exhaust right now and i was wondering if I could put a flowmast 40 muffle with the stock exhaust or would i have to get the whole flowmaster exhaust system in order to put on the flowmaster 40?

If you have any suggestions, im up for them?
I want something loud as hell, but cheap

I am going a bit further but you may want to look at my thread. Also I am using a 1999 D 5.2L but I think it will be basically the same.

if you get the muffler with the same size pipe as your stock exhaust you can put in just the muffler you only need to change everything if you change the pipe size

Like Sharps said, if you get one with the same diameter pipe as your OEM one (Which should be 2 1/2" inlet and outlet *but measure to ensure*) and take it to a muffler shop and have them switch em out. Ensure that you pipe is still good tho.

not to thread jack but im in a similar situation, if you take off the clamps/tailpipe to the muffler will the muffler slide off or will i probaly have to get it cut off? what would be a estimate for a shop to do that?

it depends on how much rust you got under there, my old truck was well rusted together, but depending you where you live (do you have winter?) you might be able to make it work, but id probably just cut it, would be quicker/easier that way
