Default Fluid Color

I would say more brown than pink. Does that indicate it has been over temp and "roasted"?

With 117k on the transmission, it maybe time for a transmission seal kit. What happens over time, the heat from the transmission fluid will cause the seal to harded. Causing a long delay upshift into 3rd or 4th gears.

Master Tech,

I appreciate the advice on the seal kit. Any other suggestions when I take it into the transmission shop tomorrow?

Default Transmission Rebuilt...

Thanks to all who gave of their time to assist me. The end of the story is that 2nd gear was completely toast. Went for a complete overhaul. $1800 dollars later I have to say, the car is soooo much quieter than before. Guess we'll be keeping the truck a little longer than originally planned to get our money's worth.

Thanks again.
