Default Headlights won't turn off

Truck was parked for two days

started it up and since then the headlights wouldn't turn off . Even with the key out . The high beams remained on

I pulled the two fuses from the engine to kill the lights but now the small blue highbeam icon is awalys on slowly killing my battery

What can the problem be and how do I fix ???

Thank you

sounds like the ctm is bad, (the unit that controls all the lights, high/low beams, fogs, ect)

are you having any other electrical problems? (intermittent wipers not working, dome light going on/off, dash lights new chimes ect)

Yes everything else works fine. Just the high beams are always on. Even with no key.
Where do I find the cmt ?

Battery drained complete today. Must boost and then find the source of this problem

Hi Again

My Truck is a 99

I"m checking out the Manuel you sent , thanks you very much

but in the meanwhile

Is there a way to completely disconnect the High beams and High beam Dashboard indicator and still use just the low beam / day lights ?

Besides the high beams always being on And the occasional "Security" dash indicator on ( alarm not working ) I have no other electronic problems . Would it still be a bad CTM ?

thanks for your help ?

ctm or multi-function switch (the stick that controls highbeams, directionals, wipers washers, ect)

The head lights are on the battery side so they come one even when no key is in the ignition. There is a few things you can look at.

There is a relay in the PDC under the hood. Replace with one of the same number and see if the issue goes away. If it does you have a bad relay.

Could be a bad head light switch.

Could be a bad CTM.

DRL? Canada? Then you may have a bad DRL module. If you want, get a new one and see if thattakes care of it. I seem to recall DRLs are mandatory in Canada? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If it has Driving Lights then it's a Canadian model.
