cooler A/C?
Well my durangos a/c has always been crappy, its cold but just isnt like it should be and finally, when its been on for about 10-20 mins it USUALLY starts getting colder, does anyone know of any tricks of getting an bit colder a/c or am im stuck with this BS? and yes my freon has been flushed and replaced many times and i have an few new a/c components from the crash. Thanks.
Our Ds have been known to have crappy a/c so don't sweat it. It's not like we're driving around imports or matchbox cars. It takes a while for the a/c to work itself all the way through the cabin. Did you check if the efan is operational? It helps to cool off the condenser coil for cooler a/c. If it's working, then I'd hazard a guess that you're (we're) stuck with slow a/c. But it gets going when we hit the road!
ya the efan is working fine from what iv seen, and i dont think honda could ever make such an manly car as dodge could lol!
true about the insulating stuff, i doubt it would have an WHOLE lot effect for me though being i removed an few products for more cooler air to go in and hot air to go out, im suprised since i removed the dird shield in front of the engine since the begining of the a/c lines are right there that it hasnt helped really.
has anyone ever took an few bags of ice and cooled down there a/c lines? kinda intrstead if this though would work?
Thanks for your suggestions though.

Talk to Mean Green I believe he knows a pretty good trick for wrapping the a/c lines......I got some tape at Lowes last year and it helps... it is a foam insulation like the type used for outside water lines.....There is tape also available...aluminum tape that can be cut into strips for taping dryer duct hoses.... I used a combo of the both and it helps. If he read this he should chime in shortly.....if not then PM him...he is glad to help.
A couple of tricks that have helped me.....
1. Leave the rear A/C off unless there is passengers back there......
2. If there is not front seat passenger I leave the vents open but turn them towards the driver.
+2 what Dan said....There is a lot of volume and area to cool....The A/C can only go so high.... and with the extreme temps they are getting a work out this summer.
Use a Window shade especially in the front window it helps...

I may be able to help you there. Here's a link to what some members did to wrap their a/c lines. Remember, just the cold lines. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...colder-ac.html
BTW, when you mentioned wrapping, I remember I wrapped my lines as well! ::doh::
