I have a 2001, 2 w/d. Bought it with stock shocks on it and they were shot. I installed new set of Monroe mid line quality shock (not best) and it only rides a little better than the shocks I took off.Am I expecting to much or are these crap shock? Since adding new shocks I am not impressed with the ride, I want a better ride than what I have now!! Any suggestions?

 

Two words for you my friend........Bilstein HD.......write it down...

 

if you got he monroe reflex lineup (i kinda doubt it, they are the better monroe linup) you would have been fine, sounds like you cheaped out (probably got the sens-a-tracs)

I knew you would suggest Bilstien!! I have those on my 85 crew cab and they are awsome. Yes I did put the sensa tracks (I THINK?) I have the empty box's at my shop so I need to check that out. I ordered shocks from shock warehouse. I will see if I can return them for an upgrade to Bilstiens. Thanks guys for the help.

 

If you dont have any luck on return...keep them.....You might be able to sell them on Craigslist, Ebay or local ads...expecially if they dont have too many miles on them...Keep the boxes and instructions for next owner. Recover some of your loss.....

I got mine from Shock Warehouse.....check the pop ups on the Durango forum.......Thats where I found my deal...I researched......approx $65-70 each....Mine were buy three....get one free....AND free standard shipping....I am not sure what current deals are...that was April of 2009..

Moral of the story.......Ask the forum first.......most of us would of told you Bilsteins...
