Default I need to pass deq!

ok about an yr ago my check engine light decided to go on, i got it checked and was told several time it was just an leak in the evap system and probaly just the gas cap, several times after tightening the cap i got the light turned off but it keeps coming back and then thinking its nothing i went to deq to get new tags and they said the truck failed because of an small and an gross evap leak.

So after an few opions i went down to an dodge dealer and bought an factory gas cap, thinking that would fix it but no, didn do anything. Then i happen to know an good mechanic as an friend and he dropped by to look at what the problem could be and pointed out there was some deep cracks in one of the evap lines and he sliced off the cracked part and reattached the hose and he also pointed aint that the green **** (sorry i dont know actually whats its called) was loose so he also tightened that. The check engine light went off right away as has been for about 2 weeks.

Then yester the light suddenly re appered, taking his advice from before i checked all hoses and one of the thicker hoses right by the other cracked line was also cracked an bit so i sliced off the end of it and re attached to were it was previsouly, I though it would take care of it but nope, still there. What else should i try (yes the gas cap is tight as it will go). I need to pass deq!

BASICALLY check engine light came on, diagnosed as small and gross evap leak, bought new cap, didnt fix problem, cut off cracked hose, fixed problem for 2 weeks, light came back, cut off another cracked hose, didnt fix and i need to pass deq!

follow EVERY SINGLE vacuum line on the truck pacy especially close attention to the ones on the charcoal canister by the gas tank (about under the drivers seat) and replace the hoses, there is a write up on it in the FAQ thread
