Hemi Swap??
Has anyone pulled their 4.7 in favor of a Hemi? I've been giving this some thought. The transmission is the same so that is a bolt on deal, possibly change the mounts, get the Hemi wire harness and ECU. It should be plug and play. right? I'm sure this has been done, but has anyone done a right up on it?
i has been done in a dakota, and it is ALOT of work iirc, i dont have the link anymore, but it shouldnt be too hard to find a write up, no promises that it will bolt in tho, motor mounts are different, and the dashboard might have to be changed too
didnt dodge switch to the CANBUS system about the time the hemi came out which would mean the control signals for the instrument panel (ok not the whole dashboard) would mean nothing to our existing panel???
Its not even now, this is in a future plan. I've currently got a 02 with a 4.7. When I bought this truck I bought it with the intention of keeping it forever, I'm sick of buying cars every year. So I was pricing out engines for when this one craps on me. For a few pennies more I can get a 07+ hemi (the 390hp set up) So the question is... Why Not!? 280hp or 390+ since I'll probably throw in a cam headers ect while the engine is out...

im not sure if the new 3rd gen would be big enough for what i need, and this one is just about the perfect size
, besides i wouldnt be able to make myself put a muddy bike in the back of a new truck like that, and i love this truck too much
edit:looks like the 3rd gen is gonna be longer than the 1st gens(i cant find any other data atm, still looking), and has some features that i specifically dont want in my car/truck at this point in my life.
