Post New member with durango issues

I am new here with a 2003 Dodge durango 5.9l v8 2wheel drive. The car is making a whistling noise when in idle. The noise is coming from the iac valve. The valve was changed recently but the noise came back, is it possible that the brand/type of valve used is just not extending or fitting into the area enough and is causing air to leak thus the whistling noise? It is not a vacuum leak and definately comming from iac throttle body area. when I disconnect the iac there is no whistle. Any ideas?

Clean the Throttle Body with Carb Cleaner or Throttle Body Cleaner (making sure you clean the IAC port REALLY good), get a new TB gasket and reinstall.

Did you make sure there was an o-ring on the new iac motor? Or are talking about the PCV valve?

There is an o-ring on the new iac and it is definitely coming from the iac port.

There should be a gasket on the IAC. Double check!

i would think it would idle funny if it were leaking around the iac .. but i could be wrong .. just double check the gasket/o-ring and clean it well inside that port and around it on the mating surface..

@hydrashocker, there is not gasket on it only an o-ring.
@neogeo, Sometimes it does idle a little weird, kind go up in rpm then down, but nothing really major but noticeable to me.

Then the O-ring is what we are looking for. It's there!

Next, have you cleaned the Throttle Body like I asked?
